Acc!dont

The purpose of this project is to predict the future location of traffic accidents, redistribute traffic flow to minimize the likelihood of accidents, and give hospitals and EMS staff advance notice to reduce emergency response times and improve patient outcomes. This will be accomplished by pulling historical traffic, weather, accident and Twitter information and applying machine learning algorithms to generate future accident hotspots and warning signs to a high degree of accuracy. This information will then be used in app format to inform drivers of alternatives routes to avoid predicted future collisions, while also feeding notifications to local hospitals to allocate resources and route EMS staff to respond quickly and efficiently.
