Assured is our simple tool for predicting the chances of success for a small business loan. We figure it out by mining historical data for similar businessess to make smart guesses.

I did the layout, UX, design and copywriting to free up the team to code. I spent a bit of time tweaking CSS and working with Angular when I had time.

I wrote the python code to de-duplicate and clean up the business entity data, and index it into Elasticsearch. I worked with Wei on creating the API's used by the front end.

Matthew Lightman
I am a data scientist currently working at JP Morgan Chase. My academic background is in computational particle physics.
I came up with the original idea and did the research related to data sources. At the hackathon, I worked on the backend. I wrote the pipelines for getting business entity data from New York State govt. databases, Manta, Gayot, and geocoded the business addresses. I used mostly Python, BeautifulSoup, and Scala for these pipelines. I investigated the MasterCard Termination APIs and the sandbox that was available at the hackathon.
