Many folks say they don’t follow the news because it is too depressing. This is a legitimate claim.

Studies have shown that when we consume a majority of negative news, we feel it. In fact, we are likely to be more sad and worried about our own problems because over-consumption of negative content. Research has also shown there is an overall ratio of 17:1 negative to positive news.
