We were introduced to the wonder of phone Jenga a couple of months ago. Looking at the stacked phones, we became interested in the ways that smartphones could communicate while they were in the same room, in local spheres as opposed to the globalized, faceless communication that has increasingly become the trend in the smartphone space. Our program targets groups of friends who would ordinarily play games together and aims to offer an alternative way to enjoy themselves. It's a game that requires participation, teamwork, and coordination. We're proud of the fact that the game's mechanism is predicated high-frequency noises - we think that such a use of one of the phone's most banal features - playing sounds - will make people rethink the ways that we can use smartphone communications while also having fun.
