ITASP

The Improved Telephone Access, Security and Privacy (ITASP) system is intended to allow a consumer complete control of their telecommunications activity on any type of network connection. ITASP is based upon the concept of positive and complete, user defined and programmed, control of the user’s incoming and outgoing telephone calls.

The underlying premise of ITASP is that communication to a particular telephone number is the prerogative of the owner of that number, not the person attempting the communication. If the person attempting the communication does not want to identify himself to the owner of the telephone number, he has no right to expect to be 'let in the house'.
