Kinect-a-Moog

Our target users are electro-acoustic musicians and performers interested in making the kinect usable in artistic and experimental projects.

The open NI Synapse application allows for basic joint tracking and skeleton position.

Our project involved reverse engineering a moog minitaur synthesiser, and designing meaningful mappings and interactions for the kinect.

We often use practice based research as a way to design performance experiences for users and audience members.

Ableton Live provides accompaniment to this instrument in a duet, using the same re-engineered synth.
