What is a Penny?

It's a skateboard, and we decided to have some fun with hardware. It would be nice if we could skate while knowing which direction to take, without glancing down at a phone screen or having to carry a phone in our hands at all. Penny Pimping takes this idea and puts it to reality, utilizing Android and Google/Bing Maps APIs with the Intel Edison to control lights that show which direction to take.

Computing is done on the Android phone, which parses JSON data gathered from the mapping APIs and communicates with the Edison to turn on lights when it is time to turn.
