Plus Minus

Plus Minus is a lamp design kit that is not only fully functional as a light source, but also passively educates about basic circuitry upon construction. Through unique affordances of form, color, conductivity, and magnetism, consumers are empowered to create, customize, and personalize their own multipurpose light source. Plus Minus encourages and treasures the personal expression of its consumers. As well as using LEDs as its light source, Plus Minus is designed with a solar panel and wood in interest of sustainability. Goals of Plus Minus are to embed passive education outside of school environments, where people spend the majority of their time, and to promote the trend of the do-it-yourself and maker culture.
