RoboCatcher – Check before you ring

  1. Create a National Opt-in Service to allow the creation of “Do Not Block” numbers for all telephone numbers in the U.S. This website “console” would allow all participants to sign an online “eSign” agreement to participate and must be able to verify a notification email address upon registration and IVR verification (4 digit random number given for each phone number submitted to by Robotcaught) upon registration

  2. Protecting Landline phones

a) The main idea is to come up with a "contact list" for landline phones, without the consumer having to create it. It should contain all received (and answered > 10 sec.) calls over the last X (12?) months. In addition, automatically add any outbound telephone numbers dialed out in the last N (12?) months

b) One major improvement would be to allow the website to import contact lists (e.g. when a gmail email account is provided, the consumer is allow the option to upload their entire gmail/Android cell phone contact list)

c) Modify Central Offices (COs) to check centrally (or closest to dialed number) x.500 or LDAP access to a DB with the DN contact list. Only ring through if in the contact list

d) Create an email MWI (message waiting indication) with any "redirected" (blocked) calls to the CO voicemail

e) Allow secure web mail access to these blocked numbers and allow consumers to simply "forward/reply" with "ALLOW" anywhere on the subject line to add that number to their contact list

  1. Protecting Mobile phones: a. Similar, though with the ability to access the true cell contact list (even through a native app or from the cell operator). Alternatively, use the same approach to have the Mobile CO keep track for call detailed information based on the last N (12?) months of calls into/out of the cell phone number

Implementation will require a "BigData" LDAP or X.500 implementation of DNs and their associated phones of contact list. Will require a notification system to allow consumers to manage message waiting indications and contact lists
