In response to the ways to prevent roto calling, I would like to propose that the phone company providers provide a new service called ROTO-DELETE. Just like the answering machine, there would be a request that the caller must push one more number that will be given at that time before the number can go thru. This number can be any number that the phone owner choses from 0-9. To the roto dialer it will seem that the phone has been answered and if the number is not pushed it will disconnect, as to the phone owner, they will not get a call until the number they requested is pushed. In response to the ways to prevent roto calling, I would like to see the phone company makers provide on new phones a new control that would be called ROTO-DELETE. The phone owner would have the option of having all incoming phone calls rerouted and requesting that caller must push a designated number before the phone owner gets the call. If the number is not pushed within a certain time frame it will disconnect thus the phone owner will not be disrupted. This is just a matter of programming for both instances. When a ring tone comes in, a programmed reply is set requesting a specific # be pushed by the caller and if it is not done in a timely manner the call automatically gets disconnected. The programming can be installed at the commercial phone centers, or installed on all consumer phone products. Submitted 1/10/2013 by John Rudnick on behalf of Steve Rudnick
