Saferide

With Saferide we aim at improving the security comfort of people's riding experience by providing position tracking features combined with close monitoring of unnecessary detours and friend messaging. With our web app, people can include their email, departure and destination point and in exchange, we accept to give them a summary of their ride, text their friends if we detect suspicious behaviors and send them a summary of their rides. Our long term vision is to use this data to provide a local ride service recommendation system based on trustworthiness. We were inspired by situations in which we found ourselves in cities/countries we did not know anything of and felt anxious using taxi. After having interviewed a few friends, we also came across that a concern people had when using taxis or other ride services (excluding uber) was the impression of feeling " robbed" by unnecessary detours.
