Inspiration

Like so many things in life (eating healthy, for example) sustainable landscaping takes so many days and hours of research to get right that most people just don't do it at all.

How it works

Anyone can enter their address, preferences, and a few other pieces of information to get customized landscaping suggestions driven by relevant research. They have the opportunity to use an editor in their browser to customize their landscaping plan, and then are provided with discounts for landscaping professionals and printouts to make responsibly maintaining their yard easy.

Challenges I ran into

Figuring out how to make this useful and cool without designing something too technologically advanced to complete in the time we have.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Nailing down a streamlined user interface that has a broad appeal, and fitting it to a business plan we believe could work.

What I learned

So much about what goes into making a sustainable drought-tolerant yard.
