The Weather Man

We created the weather man for a very simple reason; Dallas weather is the least predictable weather on the planet. One morning it can be sunny and 75, and the next day it will be freezing rain outside. We decided to create the weather man so that without looking out the window of our college dorm room, we could wake up to an automated weather update in the form of a text. We used the Weather Underground API with the Intel Edison board to create a continually updating server file on the Edison board. The board can text you however frequently you want throughout the day and keep you updated on what you should be prepared for. The Edison board also features a current temperature screen which updates with the temperature outside and changes colors based on the temperature (more blue for cold, more red for hot). The weather man is great whether you are a tired college student or a professional ready to face the day.
