This Android Application, Walk Smart aims to help individuals feel safe while walking home alone at night by automatically contacting your selected friends to let them know that you are about to depart for a next destination.
What makes this app unique? It's a two tier safety based on individual action and social circle engagement.It automatically sends selected contacts a preset notification telling them when you will start walking home, while keeping track of the duration of your walk. If you do not signal that you have arrived home before the timer ends, there will be a message that pops up asking about your whereabouts. If you do not disable the message within a certain timeframe, the app will automatically send messages to your selected contacts. Still feeling uneasy on your walk? There's a help button to send more texts to your friends alerting them to call you.
