WhenToGo is an engine that generates intelligent insights to help travelers figure out the best timing to travel based on climate, seasonal activities, crowdedness factor and high/low season prices.
For THack@SFO we hacked a mobile service that lets travelers interact with our data engine to get recommendations without downloading any apps and regardless of operating system.
The idea for WhenToGo was born out of founders 10+ years of travel planning experience and various communities of travelers and adventure lovers who faced the same problem every time they needed to figure out timing - there's just no other way to do it besides googling and scanning through tons of blog posts, forum threads, archaic sites, etc. Essentially, we're taking advantage of the fact that Google search is terribly bad at this kind of insights.
