A successful system to eliminate unwanted robocalls must try to lessen the value of the robocall to the dishonest user, rather than try to block the calls at the receiving phone or answering mechanism.
In my home I have twice eliminated relentless robocalls with structured techniques. These anecdotally successful techniques serve as a backbone for the following system that eliminates robocalls. The system described herein uses existing technology, can easily be rolled out by the FTC, and will effectively diminish robocalls by lowering their value to the robocaller. The system structure leverages the demonstrated willingness of the public at large to assist the FTC in eliminating robocalls. In this system the FTC directs “informed citizen verifiers” in various ways to both identify unscrupulous callers, and later to overwhelm the robocallers capacity with savvy return callers.
