Getting together with friends has always been a hassle, requiring strenuous and often unnecessary hassle in order to coordinate with every single person. In response to this problem, we built "Downtime," which makes it easy for people to hang out with friends and grab a quick bite together.

The application first uses Facebook to find friends, after which our app calculates a convenient location for all those invited to a hangout. Using iOS8's actionable notifications, these friends can quickly reply to requests. Finally, the host can order food for the event through a texting service provided by our app and powered by Postmates and Twilio, and have it be delivered directly to the meeting spot.

While building this texting service, we were inspired to build FoodGET as a fun side project for both ourselves and other hackers. The CLI allows anyone to order through Postmates from just a single command in their Terminal window.
