A CAPTCHA or Captcha is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer. The process usually involves one computer (a server) asking a user to complete a simple test which the computer is able to generate and grade.Because other computers are unable to solve the CAPTCHA, any user entering a correct solution is presumed to be human. CAPTCHAs are used by many websites to prevent abuse from "bots," or automated programs usually written to generate spam.About 200 million CAPTCHAs are solved by humans around the world every day*. In each case, roughly ten seconds of human time are being spent. Individually, that's not a lot of time, but in aggregate these little puzzles consume more than 150,000 hours of work each day."What if we could use this ten second opportunity to advocate for the Millenium Development Goals (or any other issue) while we have the attention of the person completing the CAPTCHA?"FACTCHA does exactly that by picking random data from the MDG database and presenting it to the user in a fun-filled way. A pictorial representation of the MDG goals is presented and the user has to drag the highlighted one to the grey circle.
