Prtio (Party-Oh) is a music streaming service that allows users to combat the challenge of finding the perfect playlist at any party. To solve this social problem, we devised a schema utilized a sms Twilio framework to turn party djing into a a social voting system. Users text our web app the song they want to hear, and using the Rdio api, we play songs based on those with the most votes. In addition, to ensure host retain the ultimate control, we also built a Pebble Smart Watch application that allows hosts to veto any music he seems unfit. For those less tech-savvy people, a mobile iOS application also exists.
