The Gender Report is a website that allows you to visualize the gender of the people reporting the news. This is important to understand as we move into a world overcrowded by media. The Gender Report makes use of the NYTimes API, python, HTML/CSS/JS and processing.js, among other tools to allow you to see gender difference in coverage by news desk, over time, by front page features and by what is going on today. We hope this tool will be an activism tool to expose systemic sexism in media production and media consumption.
